Trailer hitches are finally popping up for the sportage but when I go looking at where the harness would go I see no where that it would. I looked all in the cargo space but nothing there. Only place I can find any wires without ripping panels off is in the rear bumper but those still don't look like the ones. Hoping someone may have done the wiring for one of these or found some documentation on it cause I haven't found a thing.

Honestly it was so easy I let my 16 year old son install it and it took him 15 min that's including making fun of him, joking around, looking for my drill and running the wires so they don't hang and drag down or rub against anything like the exhaust and it works great no issues at all and the wiring was more then long enough for the job

Good quality just unplug the factory plug that’s capped that matches your harness and plug in and route the wire harness. You should do this before you install a hitch

Perfect fit. Just wish the four wire harness's were more standard in hole diameter size. Not Curt's fault. Just wish the industry had a standard.
Fast delivery and just the right fit for my vehicle. Had to run a dedicated ground wire right to the lights as the trailer ground did not seem to be sufficient.

Nowhere in the description did I see that it works only on the 6-cylinder model Kia Sportage. After searching diligently to no avail for the wiring to connect this to, consulting on-line, and watching YouTube videos, I put it back in its packaging. That's when I finally see the words, "6-cylinder models only" on part of the cardboard insert. That knowledge in advance might save somebody else some time and aggravation.

The unit tests good when using a test lamp but works sporadically when a trailer is plugged in. I installed the unit in July and it worked with the test lamp so I figured all was well. Didn't have occasion to hook up to the trailer until a couple days ago which is when I discovered the unit doesn't work when plugged into the trailer. Sometimes it works with the engine running, sometimes when the engine is off. Sometimes when the key is off, sometimes when key is on position and engine not running. There is no pattern except the unit can not be trusted to be working when on the road. It is not the trailer wiring as I have been using the trailer without light issues all summer with my two pickups. Disappointed as I didn't even get one use out of it and of course I'm told it is too late to return.
