Hi,

I have a MAC system in my office which I need to take remote at my home for the video editing. I tried Team viewer and anydesk softwares but I am not able to hear the sound which is necessary.

It would be great if you can suggest me any freeware for taking the mac system on remote. I tried Logmein which is working very slow and also, it is costing me $349 for a entire year.

Hence, need some great tips.

Thank you in advance.

HCS Computer Solutions is an IT service provider.

You might want to check out Splashtop. You didn't say what kind of bandwith you had at both ends

I have enough bandwidth at the office where the MAC systems are kept. However, I have got 25 mbps speed at my home.

Thanks for mentioning Splashtop!

Please give Splashtop Business Access a free test drive. It is a high performance remote access solution with solid support for MAC.
Splashtop is very cost effective starting at just $5 per month [billed annually at $60 / year]. I'm here to answer any question.

Seem like you have a unique set up. what is slow? the whole remote session or audio seems to be out of sync? Probably good to understand your network and configurations... how old is the MAC w/ what graphics/hardware, etc.. can you contact so our team can root cause? thanks.

Remote controlling for video editing will never work well. Video simply takes too much bandwidth, especially for what you are doing. I'm a media creation specialist as well as an IT guy, and I've never found anything that will work as you are asking for.If you have to edit from home, you're going to need to get a laptop. You can download your asset files to that, work locally, and upload the updated project files back to your work computer. It's not what you want to hear, but it's the only thing I know that work worth anything. I have investigated this as recently as last month, but have been looking for years.

Please give Splashtop a free test drive.... several large studios and several game development houses are using Splashtop to support remote video editing and game development....

for example, last week, we contacted a gaming development house to see how they are doing [we don't have rights to disclose this gaming company's name]... here is verbatim: "

....we've got 200+ developers that we need to be able to keep working from home, and Splashtop is currently our #1 tool for enabling this. We have programmers, artists, designers, QA, and other groups using Splashtop. Most of them are trying to play builds of our game remotely via Splashtop. Controllers are preferred over Keyboard + Mouse for a few reasons, not least of which is because the primary platform for our finished product will be gaming consoles like Xbox, Playstation, etc. The PC's we're remoting into are primarily Nvidia GPUs, with some AMD GPUs as well. We try to have some mix of GPUs, but we're primarily Nvidia,.. We're hitting something like ~180 active session each day on one server. Things are going well

Meteoroligsts putting together TV weather forecasts

This is the first time weve done weather remotely. We log into the Baron weather system, prepare graphics, set-up sequences for shows, and operate the weather system entirely remotely. Splashtop has been instrumental in allowing our weather department to operate remotely while still using the full resources of our weather system. Video production teams remotely editing and rendering videos

I have Splashtop installed on my home computer and use it to access my files and editing software from anywhere in the world. I travel a lot! So, when clients need me to send them a video or a photograph, I can access my editing program, render the video and send it to them, all from my phone or laptop. Ive been able to take on more projects since I can travel more now without it affecting my work. Marlon Torres, Owner of Torres Studios

We are working on several case studies of remote video editing using Splashtop by Hollywood studios.

I feel it's a bit weird situation. What stopping you from working on the Mac directly instead?
