Bought a refurbished hp dv6 off eBay about 3 weeks ago that Ive been using for streaming and very light gaming. Had no issues with it so far[apart from it getting hot fairly easily but Im told this is always an issues with these laptops]
I was using it before and it suddenly died, it made a quick beeping type noise and turned off as if the power had been cut[even though it was fully charged]. No lights come on at all when the charger is plugged in.
Since then Ive tried unplugging the power supply, removing battery and holding power button for 30 seconds and nothing. I tried removing the battery and plugging in the charger and noticed the laptop around where the battery connects heated up somewhat which seemed strange. I am using a 3rd party charger btw as the laptop had no charger when i bought it.
Any advice on this will be great. If it seems the laptop is completely dead then I can at least try for an eBay refund
