  • Dear Tam Students and Parents:

I hope that all are doing well and having a good start to the school year! If you are currently taking an AP class, it is time to register for the 2023 College Board's Advanced Placement [AP] exams. Exam registration is now open and will close at 11:59 PM on Friday, October 21, 2022. Registrations made after the deadline will incur a $50 late fee per exam. No exam orders or changes can be made after November 4, 2022. We want every student to be able to take their AP exams! Students with acute financial need can apply for financial aid through the registration site. Financial aid requests must be submitted by October 21st. Please contact your counselor or the Assistant Principal’s Office for more information.

The AP exams provide students the opportunity to demonstrate mastery of materials covered in AP classes and, depending upon results and individual university policy, possibly earn college credit. It is the student’s responsibility to consult the catalogs of colleges of interest in order to determine each college’s policy with regard to AP exams. Students enrolled in an Advanced Placement class at Tam High, may take the exam. Students are encouraged to consult with their AP teacher to determine their readiness for the exam. Taking the AP exam is not required.

Registering for your AP exams is a two-step process. Failure to complete both steps will result in you not being able to take the exam. Please read this communication in its entirety and follow the steps closely. This registration will take a few minutes and can be completed from any computer with internet access. If you do not intend to take the exam, please go to  //myap.collegeboard.com/and indicate “no” for “order exam” for each AP course. If your AP course is not listed, please speak with your AP teacher to receive a join code for your AP Classroom account or see Ms. Mathews in the Assistant Principals' Office.

    1st step: Paying for exam
Go to www.TotalRegistration.net/AP/051975. Login and follow the specific instructions. Registration is not complete until you are directed to the payment confirmation page that is provided at the end. If you have not already joined your AP class on AP classroom, you will receive the join code after payment to use for step 2.

2nd step: College Board Registration [This step may already be completed in your AP Class]
Login to //myap.collegeboard.com/and enter the “join code” for your courses and select “yes” indicating that you are taking the exam. You may have already joined during your AP class. Here are some helpful hints for setting up your account or verifying the information if you already have an account:

    • The students must have their own e-mail address associated with their account.  This should not be their school email address as this address is deactivated after graduation. If you already have an account, please check this and change it if necessary.
    • If you have issues with your account, please contact the College Board. The High Schools aren’t linked to them at all, so we are not able to assist with login issues and College Board will not speak to the school staff on your behalf.
    • Please be sure you keep track of your College Board login information.

Online Registration begins todays and will end on Friday, October 21st at 11:59pm. This year each AP exam costs $106.00. Any orders received after October 1st will incur a late fee of $50.00. No orders will be accepted after November 4, 2022.
