If your Mac isn’t on the list, you’ll stop receiving major software updates. This includes updates to core apps like Safari and Mail. If you use an iOS device running iOS 14 or later, then you will not be able to transfer files or perform local backups using Finder. It’s likely that older machines simply don’t have the graphical horsepower to keep up.
