The Ultimate Backlash - Hollywood may look glamorous and luxury-laced from the outside looking in, but celebrities definitely have to watch what they say while in the small group. Some celebs refused to feed into La La Land's rules, with some unapologetically speaking their minds for justice and others out of ignorance. From Mo'Nique to Janet Jackson, we highlight those A-listers who were blacklisted from Hollywood. By Moriba Cummings[Photos from left: Birdie Thompson/AdMedia, George Pimentel/WireImage]

Mo'Nique - Mo'Nique is the most recent celeb said to be blacklisted from Hollywood. Following her Best Supporting Actress Oscar win in 2010 for Precious, the actress was nowhere to be seen. Now, Lee Daniels, who directed the film, has come forward, accusing Mo'Nique of not playing the "Hollywood game," resulting in her being blacklisted. The comedian-turned-actress, however, sees it differently, saying that the roles have not stopped coming, and has even worked on an independent film called Blackbird coming out soon.[Photo: Vincent Sandoval/WireImage]

Isaiah Washington - Once a part of the original cast of the hugely successful Shonda Rhimes hit Grey's Anatomy, Isaiah Washington had it made. However, he was booted from the show after allegedly calling his then-costar Patrick Demsey a "f****t" during an argument [openly gay castmate T.R. Knight allegedly heard the slur]. Though he apologized and even took anger management classes soon after the incident went public, he wasn't seen again in a major television or movie role for several years.[Photo: David Livingston/Getty Images]

Janet Jackson - Following Janet Jackson's collaborative Super Bowl Halftime show performance with Justin Timberlake in 2004, the pop royal quickly became known more for her viral wardrobe malfunction than her talent. After the incident, she was banned from MTV and many stations refused to play her music on the radio. Some 10 years later, the NFL is still upset with the pop star for "nipplegate." When asked in 2014 who they were considering as possible performers, the NFL issued a statement, which read, "As for potential acts we have only ruled out Janet Jackson." Oddly enough, Timberlake experienced little to no backlash.[Photo: Doug Meszler/Splash News/Corbis]

Jane Fonda - Back in the 1960s, actress Jane Fonda vocally advocated in support of the civil rights movement and against the Vietnam War. Supporting both Huey Newton and the Black Panthers, Fonda was all about love and revolution. However, her bold actions cost her roles as she was blacklisted from Hollywood in the years that followed. In an interview in the early 1970s, the legendary actress said, "I can't say I was blacklisted, but I was greylisted."[Photo: Pascal Le Segretain/Getty Images]
