Can I add FINAL FANTASY XIV to Steam?
How can I add my non-Steam version of FINAL FANTASY XIV to my Steam games library? 1. Log into the Steam client. The game will now be displayed in your Steam games library and you can use the Steam Overlay while playing by pressing the Shift+Tab keys. Please note that this will not change the registration type of the version registered on the Mog Station. You will continue to need to purchase and register the Windows version of the game to the account and Steam registration codes will not be valid to register on the same service account. FAQ Article: 69864 On February 10, Final Fantasy XIV announced plans to tighten up security for the game with the introduction of Steam Version Account Linking. The English language Final Fantasy XIV Twitter account announced the change. From March 2022 onward, users with a Steam account can link their Square Enix Service Account to Steam. First, head to the Mog Station and log in with your Square Enix account. Next select Service Account Status.
Here, you should see (Steam) next to your account. This verifies that you are running a Steam version of the game. Click the I currently possess a Square Enix account button. Enter your account details, and your Steam will now be linked to your Square Enix account. After you have completed this process you won't be able to log onto this Final Fantasy XIV account with anything other than this Steam account. Additionally, once you launch, you’ll need to switch to the New Launcher Layout, which was released with the Final Fantasy XIV: Endwalker 6.0 patch. If you are still using the original launcher layout, head to the Config menu and select New Launcher Layout. Adding FFXIV to Steam Library via Retail Key? Hey Guys. I'm playing FFXIV for quite some time now, and I was happy to see that now it's available on steam. I like to manage all of my games on steam, so I was wondering if there's a way to activate the game with the retail CD key which was in the package? I only have the old box, version 1.x and upgraded it digitally to "a realm reborn" and the old retail key isn't working here. So is there even a way to activate it here? If so, do you guys know where I can find the original registration key? Thanks in advance :3

If you wish. You could buy the steam version of the base game. And just login through that just dont apply the steam code and you would still have to buy the xpacks OUTSIDE of steam. That's what I did. And when you login the game will still detect that your account has xpack access and just patch it like normal. OR Just add FFXIV as a non-steam game and you will have access to the overlay/broadcast/screenshot. Last edited by Filet Mignon; 26 Oct, 2017 @ 1:17pm
I'm not sure of this one, could you be more specific. If you've brought the game, yeah. Is it paying for the sub that is the thing? Reason why, is that i was asked something similar a ways back. But the overall question was quite vague. I do know this. you cannot access the game with an alternate steam account. I believe that you would need to purchase it if you got the game elsewhere, unfortunately.
It sounds as if you've got a retail account, non steam version so... A few ways could work. 1. Add the existing launcher as a non steam game. None of these will allow you to use steam wallet for purchases, you need an actual steam account to do that.
Wasal 7 Jul, 2021 @ 3:00pmActually there is a way. I bought Steam version of FFXIV when before I had separate version of the game. I was worried I will need to create new account. But I've found this on official FFXIV Support webpage: https://support.na.square-enix.com/faqarticle.php?id=5382&la=1&kid=76363 Just simply follow the instruction, you will create a sub-account? For your FFXIV client similar how you link Battle.net accounts. Posting this here as it is 1st when I search the in the google hope that will help somebody!
