A prepaid card is not linked to a bank checking account or to a credit union share draft account. Instead, you are spending money you placed in the prepaid card account in advance. This is sometimes called “loading money onto the card”.
In most cases, you can’t spend more money than you have already loaded onto your prepaid card. Overspending can occur with a checking account for some types of uses, and with a bank account debit card if you have “opted in” to your bank’s overdraft program. This means that your bank may charge you a fee for covering the cost of a purchase or ATM withdrawal that exceeds what you have in your account. Your bank will also require you to repay the overdraft.
Prepaid cards vs. credit cards:
Prepaid cards are very different from credit cards. This can be confusing because both types of cards may have a card network logo such as Visa, MasterCard, American Express, or Discover on them. When you use a credit card, you are borrowing money. Generally, when you use a prepaid card, you are spending money you have already loaded onto the card in advance. If your prepaid card provider also offers credit [including overdraft] on your prepaid card, it will need to comply with all the rules for other credit cards.

3. Keep/hold your cards close to your chest = to keep your intended actions secret: Giữ kín ý định của mình.
Example: You never quite know what Barry's going to do next - he keeps his cards very close to his chest.
4. Hold all the cards = to be in a strong position when you are competing with someone else, because you have all the advantages: nắm ưu thế
Example: Management holds all the cards when it comes to the negotiations over job cuts.
5. Have a card up your sleeve = to have an advantage that other people do not know about: có kế hoạch/ý tưởng/lợi thế bí mật…
Example: England have definitely been the weaker side, but I think they've still got one or two cards up their sleeve.
6. Have the odds/cards stacked against you = to be very unlikely to succeed because you are not in an good position: chống lại…

7. Wild card [n] /ˈwaɪld ˌkɑːd/: someone or something whose behaviour is sometimes unexpected: người bất định
Example: The wild card in this election is the Green Party - no one knows exactly how much support they will get.
8. Poker face [n] /ˈpəʊ.kə ˌfeɪs/: an expression on someone's face that does not show what they are thinking or feeling: người có khuôn mặt không biểu hiện cảm xúc gì
Example: to wear/keep a poker face
9. Calling card [n] /ˈkɔː.lɪŋ ˌkɑːd/: something that describes or shows a person's typical qualities: tính chất điển hình của ai đó… [gu]
Example: Slow romantic songs are his calling card.
