Combining the excitement of sport with the rigors of science and technology. We call FIRST Robotics Competition the ultimate Sport for the Mind. High-school student participants call it “the hardest fun you’ll ever have.” Under strict rules and limited resources, teams of 10 or more students are challenged to raise funds, design a team "brand," hone teamwork skills, and build and program industrial-size robots to play a difficult field game against like-minded competitors. It’s as close to real-world engineering as a student can get. The annual FIRST Robotics Competition Kickoff in early January starts the six-week “build” season.
Who Won First Robotics Competition 2022?With 30,000+ attendees across all programs, it was a heck of a party. Congratulations to the FIRST Robotics Competition Chairman's Award Winner, Team 1629, Garrett Coalition (GaCo), Accident, MD, USA! This amazing team has been around for 18 years and participated in 54 official events.

Hosted by FIRST headquarters, FIRST Championship is a culminating, international event for our youth robotics competition season and an annual celebration of science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) for our community as we prepare young people for the future.
How do I join First Robotics?Contact your local FIRST Program Delivery Partner or Senior Mentor. Your contact knows the FIRST teams, participating schools, and FIRST-friendly businesses in your area. They can help you form a plan for getting your team funded, organized, and in touch with other teams in the area.
