Each shade has a jelly-like texture and a sheer color payoff that you can build up to your desired level of coverage — my favorite by far is the tinted shade Ultimate Red. With a lip brush, I slather the balm on my lips — with just one layer, it has a really sheer color payoff, but I like to build it up until the bright red pigment really stands out. Because it's a balm and not a gloss, I still get the shiny effect that I love without the stickiness I loathe. Then I apply a tiny (like, really tiny) bit of balm to my fingers and tap it onto the apples of my cheeks. Thanks to that glossy-but-not-sticky formula, it gives me a flush and glass-skin glow all at once, so I don't even need to bother applying highlighter.
